Pyrosonics are powerful explosive devices of the future, capable of clearing several square kilometers of land with one blast. Ten of them are said to be capable of clearing "half the continent", and were to be used by the Phoenix Group to clear the prehistoric earth of wildlife and vegetation so the meteoric iron could be collected without obstruction. Jim Shannon uses one to destroy Hope Plaza in "Occupation-Resistance" in order to cut Terra Nova off the future and stop Lucas's employers from pillaging it.
They are controlled by a “Decompiler”, which can act using a timer or receive a remote signal.
